    Description

    Japanese 'meisen' silk kimono; taffeta-like stiff silk.
    Meisen kimono were fashionable among young women in the early 1900s. Designs were bright, large, and gay [think 'roaring 20s' in Japan]. This popular kimono fashion trend died out during the war, in the late 1930s,and never returned.
